Angkor Golf Resort Description

Angkor Golf Resort, located just 5 kilometers from Siem Reap and only 15 minutes from the iconic Angkor Wat, is widely regarded as the best golf course in Cambodia. Designed by six-time major winner Nick Faldo, this world-class course has firmly established Cambodia as an international golf destination. Opened in December 2007, the course is meticulously maintained by IMG, ensuring excellent playing conditions year-round, thanks to the latest Paspalum turf.

The course offers a fair test for golfers of all skill levels, demanding thoughtful strategy and precision on every hole. The bunkers and water hazards are strategically placed and clearly visible from the tee boxes, while the greens are subtly undulated, rewarding a variety of approach shots. The course layout allows for adjustments in difficulty, with specific pin positions and various tee boxes catering to both low and mid handicappers.

The final three holes at Angkor Golf Resort are particularly challenging and memorable. The par-5 16th hole, stretching 588 yards, is a beast that only the longest hitters might reach in two shots. Water on the left and a shallow green guarded by a deep bunker make the approach shot a true test of skill. The 17th hole, the longest par-3 on the course, features a green protected by water on the right, demanding accuracy, especially with back pin locations.

The 440-yard par-4 18th hole is a classic Faldo design, offering a slight dogleg to the left with water running down the entire left side, affecting both the tee shot and the approach. Golfers must challenge the water to set up the best angle into the green, ensuring a dramatic finish to the round.
