Austin Hills Golf Resort Description

The Austin Hills Golf Resort is situated just 15 kilometers from the Johor checkpoint and within close proximity to Johor Bahru city center. This resort is known for its challenging 27-hole golf course and spectacular panoramic views from its iconic clubhouse perched atop Austin Hill.

Originally designed as two 18-hole golf courses, Austin Hills was reconfigured into a 27-hole layout after the December 2006 floods. The resort now features three distinct 9-hole courses: the Austin Course, the Resort Course, and the Hills Course. Golfers can combine these nines to create a full 18-hole round, providing a variety of challenges suitable for both professional golfers and amateur visitors.

The course layout is designed to blend seamlessly with the natural terrain, making it appear as though it has been part of the landscape for centuries. Elevated tee boxes, intimidating ravines, undulating fairways, and small greens demand precise course management. The Austin Course is characterized by its lush tropical flowering plants, giving it a garden-like appearance. Tee boxes on holes 2 and 4 offer stunning views across the entire course.

The Resort Course is a combination of seven holes from the original Austin Course and two from the original Hills Course, making it the most challenging of the three. The Hills Course features a desert theme with cacti and large sand bunkers, providing a unique golfing experience. The elevated 8th and 9th holes offer excellent photo opportunities to capture the beauty of the course.
